MPR News, Dana Ferguson, and Mark Zdechlik reported that the majority of Minnesota voters who participated in an MPR News/Star Tribune/KARE 11 poll last week said the state should legalize recreational marijuana use. … Republicans are more opposed to the proposal to legalize marijuana for recreational use than those identified as Republicans. Only under 65 percent oppose it, while 29 percent of GOP voters support it.
MPR News’ Dana Ferguson reports that the Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is leading against his Republican challenger Jim Schultz in a new MPR News/Star Tribune/KARE11 poll. Mason-Dixon Polling conducted a statewide survey of 800 voters between Sept. 12-14 and found Ellison to have 46 percent support. Nearly 45 percent chose Schultz while nearly 9 percent remained undecided.
According to Tim Harlow , deer crossing signs are no longer common on Minnesota highways. The yellow, diamond-shaped signs with an image of a deer on them have disappeared from state roads in the last decade. According to Chris Smith, a wildlife specialist with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), the reason is that drivers did not heed warnings to slow down and search for deer. Smith stated that Smith did not see any changes in people’s behavior. However, vehicle-deer accidents are very common in Minnesota, especially in September and December.

Dominion’s lawyer Mary Kathryn Sammons stated that the lawsuit was based on public figures telling very misleading stories about Dominion.
Rich Reeve’s story at KSTP TV says that “Some of downtown Minneapolis’s busiest thoroughfares, including sections of Hennepin Avenue or First Avenue, were closed down to make them more pedestrian-friendly. This is part of a pilot program to attract people to the warehouse district near Target Center. Ben Shardlow is the Urban Director for the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District. ‘ Our goal is to engage with people here, giving them a positive experience and helping us grow the project.’ This event, called ‘Warehouse District Live,’ was hosted by the Minneapolis Downtown Council.

According to a CNN report, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke in Kansas Sunday and indicated that he is looking to capitalize on the attention that has been given to him last week when he sent migrants to Massachusetts. “This is a crisis.” It’s getting a lot more attention now,’ DeSantis stated. He received a standing ovation while he spoke about the southern border, and nodded to the headlines that he created when he flew 50 migrants across the border to Martha’s Vineyard. DeSantis stated that the country’s immigration system was ‘on the ballot at an event hours later in Wisconsin.
