This is Stribber Randy furst. “A civil trial that was scheduled for Monday pitted a former University of Minnesota student and the Chinese billionaire she claimed had raped him was ended Saturday. It canceled what was to have been a turbulent four weeks in a Hennepin County Courtroom. The settlement was announced by the parties in a joint statement on Saturday night. Terms were not disclosed. According to the statement, there would be no further comments. The settlement amount is likely to be substantial , considering that Richard Liu’s wealth has been estimated by Forbes magazine at $11 billion.
Peter Cox reports for MPR News. Three people were killed when a small plane crashed into a second-story Hermantown house just before midnight on Saturday. The couple who was sleeping in the home narrowly escaped injury. Hermantown police stated that the Duluth International Airport informed them that a small plane had disappeared radar and was believed to be crashed. The airport was located approximately 1 to 1.5 miles from the last radar location.
KSTP TV Rich Reeve said that “Some Fort Myers dock areas look like naval wrecking yards.” Jordan Bohonek, a local resident, said that you can see boats of all sizes at the Fort Myers marina. “Particularly big boats that are running up on the shore, sinking or have already sunk,” Bohonek said. Experts estimate Hurricane Ian could have caused $70 billion of damage to Florida. Bohonek flew from Albert Lea to Florida to inspect his Fort Myers residence. Bohonek says that there was very little damage to the roof. Bohonek claims that Ian has made a significant impact on the landscape. He explained that the devastation has been devastating for local people. “All the buildings we love and know and all the Fort Myers bars and restaurants that we love are gone .”
Kristi Belcamino, Pioneer Press, reports that a 25-year-old Japanese man was the first to cross the finish line at the 2022 Twin Cities Marathon. This race marked the 40th anniversary. Yuya Yoshida from Higashi Yamayama, Saitama finished the 2022 race within 2 hours, 11 mins and 28 seconds. Yoshida was the first Japanese winner of the event. Jessica Watychowicz (31), from Colorado Springs, Colo. was the first female runner to cross the finish line. She ran the race in 2:33 minutes and 9 seconds. She was 17th of the 6,495 runners who crossed the finish line.
Brielle Bredsten, Duluth News Tribune says that is “The newest addition in the Lincoln Park neighborhood’s Craft district was Saturday, September 24, when Warrior Brewing Company launched its taproom. After Seth Maxim moved their new brewpub from Lake Superior Brewing Company to the Lakeside neighborhood, the veteran-owned company has been making beer in that location since May 2021. Warrior Brewing Company’s taproom is now part of the group of cideries and breweries within walking distance. This small town is located somewhere between Emmett Till’s corpse and where Medgar Evers died. As a child, I hated staying too long as there wasn’t much to do. I regret not having cherished those moments as an adult. Cruger is a small town of less than 500 residents. This means that there are few good-paying jobs. The median household income in Cruger is currently less than $25,000, which leaves 35% of the population in poverty. In Mississippi, the nation’s poorest state, there are many towns like Cruger. … These are the communities Brett Favre (a Mississippi native) was told he was taking money — and he didn’t care. Officials believe this is the biggest public fraud in state history, with at least $77 million spent on welfare. Favre was sued in May by the state to recover $1.1 million from welfare funds he received. Recent court filings reveal details about his involvement.

Georgia was second. Six years ago, the political world was expecting that the incumbent Republican would lose to former Sen. Russ Feingold (D.Wis.). The Senate Leadership Fund, which is supported by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, didn’t spend any money on the race. Since, Democrats have held on to Johnson’s victory. On Thursday, Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), stated that “Oh, I think everybody’s very aware of it”. “Nobody counts their chickens before they hatch.”
