35,000 Xcel customers without power following overnight storms

Diane Sandberg from KARE-11 reports Emergency crews are frantically distributing themselves across the Twin Cities metro area and surrounding areas Wednesday morning following heavy rain and wind that swept through the region overnight. According to Xcel Energy 35,000 people were without power in the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin after the storm. Some of the outages were caused by winds from early morning thunderstorms. Some gusts reached up to 81 mph.

From WCCO Minnesota health officials say that there have been 39 cases of monkeypox in the state.

Mary Divine of the Pioneer Press reports two cattle escaped Tuesday from a farm north of Stacy. They walked past the Stacy Kwik Trip and the Sunrise Estates Mobile Home Park’s parking lot, before finally reaching Interstate 35, near the city’s border with Wyoming, where they were caught by deputies.
